Chain stitch embroidered in silk floss onto a fine mill spun natural madder cotton ground. The silken colours are clear and bright and also appear to be from natural dyes.
From abrasion some of the soft floss silk has rubbed off and there is slight uneven fade in an otherwise rich and deep madder red field colour. There is also a darned tear in one section and some dark stains clearly seen in the photos here.
Commensurate with age and in an imperfect state • first half 20th C (prior to 1947 partition)
